England head coach Phil Neville has named a strong squad for the upcoming Women’s World Cup in France.
The Lionesses’ squad was revealed via a series of social media posts featuring a wide range of high-profile stars including Alan Shearer, David Beckham and Olly Murs.
Neville has included Jill Scott and Karen Carney in the 23, with the pair set to play in their fourth tournament.
Fran Kirby and Millie Bright are also named, despite missing recent internationals through injury.
Eleven players will be making their World Cup debuts, but there is no place for Izzy Christiansen, Chioma Ubogagu or Fara Williams.
“This is a significant moment in our World Cup campaign,” said Neville.
“Picking a squad is never easy, but I believe in this group and I know they will be ready to help us perform at our very best at the finals.
“We know what we are capable of achieving and are determined to do all we can to be successful.
“We keep saying it but the hard work starts now and we are going to give it everything we have to make the nation proud.
“We are the third-ranked team in the world and there is a lot of expectation, but our performances have been really good and there is more to come from these players.
England kick-off their World Cup campaign against Scotland on Sunday, June 9, before facing Argentina five days later.
They will complete their group stage fixtures against 2015 runners-up Japan on Wednesday, June 19.
The Lionesses started their warm-up for the World Cup at the SheBelieves Cup earlier this year.
They defeated Brazil 2-1 in their opening game, before drawing 2-2 with the United States.
A 3-0 victory over Japan in their third match guaranteed them top spot in the round-robin tournament.
Neville’s side were then surprisingly beaten 1-0 by Canada in a friendly on April 5, but bounced back with a 2-1 victory over Spain just four days later.
England will complete their World Cup preparations with home fixtures against Denmark and New Zealand.
They are currently fourth favourites in the outright betting market to win the tournament behind the USA, France and Germany.
